Based in Southend on Sea, Essex, it is the local environment plus a few trips further afield that have provided the main inspiration for his impressionistic paintings. He enjoys “creating works which celebrate life and beauty in the world around him” and exhibits his work through local galleries and the Leigh Art Trail.

He loves the atmosphere of painting competitions and the chance to meet and work amongst other artists. He took part in Paint Out Norwich 2016-17, Royal Norfolk Show 2017, Paint Out Wells 2018 and the first Paint Out Great Yarmouth in 2018, as well as others including Pintar Rapido, The Bath Prize and Sky Arts Landscape Competition (2015 and 2016).
